Refractometer Measurer for Beer, Wort etc- single/dual scale – alcohol concentration meter – handheld

Beer Refractometer 0-32% Brix 1.000-1.120 S.G – Hydrometer

A sugar Refractometer for measuring the specific gravity or Brix of unfermented wort.

This refractometer offers both Brix % and Specific Gravity values, and comes with automatic temperature compensation (ATC).

A refractometer will allow you to take instant gravity measurements during mash run-off or during the boil. It works like a hydrometer except you only need a few drops and there is no need to cool a trial jar of liquid before taking a reading. Using a refractometer lets you check the progress of your brew so you can make adjustments along the way. A valuable tool for all-grain and extract brewers.

To use, apply 2-3 drops to the prism face, close the cover and wait 30 seconds. Look through the eye-piece – the line on the screen will show the Brix % and Specific Gravity reading.

Includes a hard case.

Specs
Automatic Temperature Compensation: 10-30 degrees C
Range: 0-32 Brix, Specific Gravity 1.000-1.120

This Refractometer Measure for Beer Wort etc is specifically created for the beverage industry

Use Brix readings to see the sugar of musts or fruit and help determine finished alcohol readings with the SG scale

Degrees Brix is the sugar content of an aqueous solution. One degree Brix is 1 gram of sucrose in 100 grams of solution and represents the strength of the solution as percentage by mass A sucrose solution with an apparent specific gravity (20°/20°C) of 1.040 would be 9.99325 °Bx or 9.99359

Product Information:
Measuring Range: 0~ 32% Brix Scale
Type 1:0-32 Wort Specific Gravity
Type2 :1.000 ~ 1.120 Wort Specific Gravity
Accuracy: ±0.4% Brix
±0.002 Wort Specific Gravity
Automatic Temperature Compensation (ATC): 10°C – 30°C (50°F – 86°F)

Easy to use :
Simply place about 2-3 drops to the prism face, close cover and make sure the glass has no dry spots or air bubbles. Wait 30 seconds to allow the sample to come to ambient temperature and look through the eyepiece while aiming your refractometer at a light source.

How To Test the Salinity of Water

How to Test the Salinity of Water

Salinity can be tested in three different ways:

  • Handheld Refractometer
  • Hydrometer
  • Conductivity meter

The most important factor when testing the salinity of the water is to understand salinity measurements depending on the type of water you will be testing.

Handheld Refractometer

This tool looks like a telescope and is the simplest way to measure the salinity of water accurately. They work by measuring how much light bends or refracts (refractive index) when water is added under a plate, and are most commonly used in aquaculture industries such as aquariums.

How to use it?

  1. Calibrate it first to get an accurate reading.
  2. Open the plate to expose the prism.
  3. Pipette the solution you wish to test.
  4. Add a couple of drops of the solution being tested onto the prism.
  5. Close the plate gently.
  6. Look through the round end of the meter to read the salinity level. You will see a scale, most likely in parts per thousand (ppt) ranging from 0 to 50.
  7. Record the result.
  8. Gently wipe the prism with a cloth or tissue.
